Michael Bliss, Ph.D., taught Canadian history at the University of Toronto for 38 years.
He is the author of several prize-winning books, including The Discovery of Insulin and Right Honourable Men: The Descent of Canadian Politics from Macdonald to Chretien.
He is a member of the Order of Canada and has been awarded four honorary degrees for his contributions to Canadian and medical history.
