Our colleague and Multimedia Nova Board member Patrick Gossage has an illustrious 40-year career in the areas of journalism, broadcasting, politics and communications and public relations, including serving as Prime Minister Trudeau’s press secretary. Today, we mark the 10th anniversary of Trudeau’s passing with a personal photograph and remembrance from Patrick.
On the anniversary of the death of a man who meant so much to my life, I like to remember him as the consummate world traveler, and yes tourist. He was endlessly curious about and respectful of other cultures or customs, and we went along with him for some wonderful rides.

This picture, taken of us on an extraordinary trip to Africa in 1979, shows him fascinated by a virtually medieval race of decorated horses at a tribal festival deep in the middle of Nigeria.

When a person is smarter, more mature and knows what life is all about, he has to leave this earth, too bad. But I guess there is a better place to use our intelligence and knowldge, because I guess, the flesh dies but the soul lives on, as smart as ever and more, and our intelligence is part of it, it never dies. And we should NOT use the expression, MAY HE REST IN PEACE, we should say, MAY HE LIVES ON BETTER THAN EVER!
